Local government elections: vote early, vote often

I'll probably stay up well past my bedtime tonight, just to watch the results roll in from the local government elections in England and Wales.

For me, much of the interest will centre on just how well leftwing, Green and Respect candidates fare against New Labour, and on the prospect of a BNP breakthrough in Barking and Dagenham.

In the past, my problem on such occasions has been that the mainstream media never gives much coverage to minor parties. But this is in the internet age, and those fine people at Socialist Unity have come up with the answer.

SU's Election 2006 resource page promises to be live all night and all day Friday, carrying the relevant results. I'll be looking at my PC as much as my telly.
