Stalinist takes over ministry of the interior
John Reid - pictured left - becomes the latest in a long line of none too liberal home secretaries. But remember that he replaces Charles Clarke, and that the post was previously held by Jack Straw. Perhaps appointing a string of tankies to the job is Blair's little in-joke for the left?And won't Beckett and Condi make a great team?
